Clare are likely to beat Waterford so that's about the 4th, if not 5th, Kerry v Clare SF on the trot.

Were Kerry and Cork kept apart or was it luck of the draw.

this provincial draw is stale as f*ck. seriously.

play off the league to establish weighted seedings and for championship draw 8 groups of 4 (all teams play home and away) so it guarantees 6 games for all counties.

There would be a great buzz.

    4 Antrim vs Tyrone/Derry

    SF
    QF1 vs QF2
    QF3 vs QF4

potential for plenty of dead rubbers with that. Better to have just 1 game against each county per group unless you got rid of the league. 7 games in a league then 6 more in another would get stale fairly fast

players like playing games though. run them all at same times aswell, maybe across saturday evenings and sunday afternoon. maybe have another draw then when top 2 in each group is determined.

if only 3 games each per group maybe split championship in 2 then (top 16 in A championship, bottom 16 in B championship)

Whats the need to have it in fecking October? Just looking at that draw now, the Wexford footballers go into pre-season in the knowledge that if they maybe beat Louth on the road (and their recent record in Leinster alone hasn't been great), then they have no hope against the Dubs in a cavernous Croker.

Some carrot that is for lads.

Maybe have it after a couple of rounds of the league-the enthusiasm will increase tenfold.

In 2015 Clare lost to Cork, they lost to Kerry every other year since so that'll be the 4th year in a row but the 5th time in 4 years that Clare have played Kerry in the Championship, I wonder if any other teams have played as often without replays.

Players do want/need games but you shouldnt go into a 6 game group stage so drastically from a straight knock out competition.
3 games per group then splitting tournament allows counties far more games at appropriate level and gives more teams something to aim for in a year/season

When are counties going to wake up? Really what are Waterford going to do in Munster? Wicklow in Leinster? Letriem in Connacht? And so on. It's disrespect to them but what's the point of them playing in the senior championship? You can also guess who's going to be in the four provincial finals already and could see some big beatings being dished out again like there was this season

Not really looking forward to the Championship in the way I used to. Gaelic football is not doing it for me of late and I was steeped in the tradition. All my family's lives revolved around the club and county as we were growing.
I don't like the style anymore with all the hand passing, all the brawls and poor refereeing. The game is being ruined, probably has been for a long time, and the proposed rule changes I doubt will work.

That's like saying Mansfield,Morecambe,Crawley Town need to wake up, really what are they going to get out of playing in the FA Cup?

I'm nearly certain if Wexford win they will play Dublin in Wexford Park.

Think the Ladies championship format is a great template, Senior, intermediate and junior championships with a day out in Croke Park for at least 6 teams in a final. Could be run in conjunctiom with the league.

And every county championship the same. Madness it's not like that for the all Ireland football.

Mayo and Galway have met the last 6 years.

Not really as they play in Johnston Paint Cup etc something they can actually win

So it has taken Mayo and Galway 5 years to play 5 times, Clare Kerry have played 5 times in 4 years, I'm going to have to see if any other matchup can beat that (excluding replays)
