Moving company

    Hi all,

I'm looking for recommendations for a moving company if anyone has any suggestions. I know there are a lot of companies out there but I'd always prefer a recommendation.

Looking to move from South Dublin to Wicklow, roughly a 60km journey. Haven't got a massive amount of stuff, I reckon 1 box lorry load would bring all we have. Not confident to drive one myself so hiring one isn't an option.

    Many thanks

As a Landlord I regularly use MK Removals Blanchardstown. They also have a boxing and storage service which I used twice after tenants did a runner.
I cant say if they are good bad or indifferent, they were local to me at the time and did what was asked of them.

If you don't have much stuff, a big Sprinter 313 van can be hired for less than 100 a day and is as easy to drive as a car.

I used Allen Removals who were fine, but the truck was enormous.

After a lot of consideration this is what we did. Rented a van from Enterprise (use the Ikea refferal link) for about 50e/day and rented a storage space in U store.

Moved non essentials to storage a few weeks before moving day and direct moved the rest on the day.

Cost about 300e total compared to the 4-5k prices from companies (we were unsure if we could sell/buy/move on one day so those prices included storage).

It looks especially large while barreling towards you on the wrong side of the road as the driver squeezes past a cyclist...

I'm in a similar dilemma and have a bad back so can't do the move myself. Have been getting quotes on any van.ie which seems to be like a contact base for lads with white vans countrywide. We have a 4 bed house and shed to move so probably 3 or 4 big van loads. We're only moving 5 miles down the road but quotes between 500 and 800 coming back for everything and me not having to lift a thing

We used DJ Hanleys a few years ago with a similar move. They have a storage unit just off the N11 at Newtownmountkennedy as well as providing a moving service. They were helpful and didn't destroy the bank.

My friends have 3-1/2 rooms of furniture that need to go from Laconia to Agawam, MA. Renting a truck and doing the work themselves is out of the question. What company do you recommend? Thanks!
