Minimum wages for Proprietary Director

    Hi everyone,
I owned a restaurant and currently has a WRC (Workplace Relations Commissioners) inspection. I am the Proprietary Director and the owner shareholder in the company ie. I owned the company and business.
Due to this is a new business, the earning still haven't balanced the business expenses, so I just take €250/week from the business for my own living. Hopefully the business will get better and I can take more for myself.
But the WRC inspector saying the wages I got was below the National Minimum Wages if divided by the hours I worked. I told her the company is struggling to survive and there were no additional money to pay myself. She argued that I am also an employee of the Limited Company and should receive the minimum payment too. I told her it doesn't make sense at all, are you telling me to take wages then give it back to the company if the company is short of monies? She just keep saying the law is the law and I have to follow.
I checked the website and didn't find any legislation saying the Proprietor Director is bind with the National Minimum Wages.
Please let me know if anyone has this problem before or any advice will be great. Thanks a million.

You don't count as an employee.

Self-employed people and directors who don't have contracts of employment don't need to earn minimum wage.

This is why machine learning is going to take over.

A WRC inspector blindly following the rules, unable to see the bigger picture or nuance.

We don't need a human to make black and white "law is the law" decisions.
