Hand-me-up Note4 replacement parts?

My younger brother just gave me a hand-me-up Samsung Note 4 into which I've transfered my sim. He says, the battery no longer holds a charge very long but thats an easy fix with the easily replaceable battery in the Note 4. Thats if I even need to replace it. I am not a heavy Smartphone App user like he is so if my lighter usage allows it to hold a charge during the day and I recharge at night, I might not even need to replace the battery.

However, the front glass is cracked although Touch on the screen works fine and the glass cover of the camera rear camera lens is also cracked.

The replacements for those seem very cheap on ebay but what I am asking is the difficulty level of replacing these parts myself and/or if its a cheap fix in one of the chinese phone shops I might just get them to do it. ie. Given the parts on ebay seem to be about €15 all in, I'd be prepared to pay a chinese shop €30-€35 for parts and labour but anything above that and I'd likely prefer to by the parts myself and DIY it.

    Any advice is welcome.

The camera lens is an easy enough swap, the front glass kits for the Note 4 are a false economy.
The equipment and level of skill needed to seperate the glass from the screen are really beyond a home repair.
Even Samsung replace the front glass with a complete Glass/Digitizer/LCD unit.

Have a talk to your preferred shop and see if they can seperate the glass and screen but IMO most won't even try.

Check out the instruction on iFixit for what you want to do. They include difficulty ratings so that should give you an idea of how feasible it is. If you're going it alone, remember that you might need to buy the tools. They can be pretty specialised and it can be difficult to make do without. The other factor is that the repair shops will have a more experience with doing the repairs so might do a better job.

I'd get quotes from some repair shops and then price the parts and equipment needed online and consider how difficult it might be. If the repair shop is within €20 or so, it's probably better to go with them. Unless of course you want to experience of going DIY which has value in itself :pac:
