There's a droning sound for the last week when I get above 30mph. Fine below that. Driving a 2013 Audi A4

    Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe best to bring it for a service

When they see you are driving a flash car, they’ll charge accordingly.

Wheel bearing maybe. Shouldn't cost too much if that's the case.

Could be a worn wheel bearing. Can you identify where the noise is coming from? If not, get it checked out in a garage.

Seems to be coming from behind me on the left so a wheel bearing might make sense - any idea how much that would be?

Had the same issue, it was the wheel bearing.

Not a cheap fix, it was €300 for me but I had to replace both.

Are you being followed by a fleet of drones?

Can often be something as simple as a soft tyre, droning noises can come in many forms

Check if that wheel is getting hotter than the others after driving for a while.

    Maybe a deformed tyre.

Same thing happened to me, was a wheel bearing gone in the back left tyre. It got worse as the speed increased.
Cost 79 to fix and was done that day, although I only have a wee Micra!

But he can't bring a 'flash' car, the noise is coming from the Audi.....?

Could be a lot of things, I wouldn't go changing bearings unless I knew I needed to,

Could be one, more or none of these:

    Deformed Tyre
    Soft Tyre
    Warped disc
    Siezed caliper
    Worn wheel bearing
    Wasps nest
    Uneven road surface
Loose trim catching wind and vibrating
    Talk radio

Get someone to diagnose it, not just change parts...

    Check the tyre thread dept.
I had a droning noise before with a particular set of tyres, when they were worn down to the thread blocks.

Also happened when there was a worn wheel bearing.

So - got this looked at at the weekend - turns out it is a wheel bearing. My mechanic hadn't time to do it when I dropped the car to them so he's going to look at it this week - hoping its not going to be too expensive!
