Can I get sky q without a dish?

    Hi there I was wondering is it possible to get sky q without a Satellite dish ?Thank you

    Not yet, satellite dish still required. They did say in early 2017 it would be available over broadband at some point in the future, no further information since.

    Be careful what you wish for. A dish-less Sky system will likely only be carrying channels that form part of the Sky package. No access to Other Channels or FTA channels that only pay for an EPG listing.

    When it happens - and it may well at some point- Sky’s transition to being a cable company will be complete. (And they’ve just been bought by a cable company).

    Going by forums on the net it will be launched in Italy by year end. So 2019 possibly for the UK and Ireland could be a year after that.

    I don't think the fibre infrastructure is good enough in cities and towns yet for Sky to launch. Virgin are still the only game in towns/cities.
    Until we see ftth in the above it would be hard for them to launch and make any inroads.

    That would make things interesting indeed ....... especially if they shortly afterwards started charging for hardware rental on their present Sky Q boxes, or even phased out their satellite service altogether :D
