Vodafones Gigabit Router is a massive improvement over the original Huawei router. But it's nowhere near as good as the Fritz!Box.

First of all the Vodafone router is locked down. So you might only be able to use some functions with the way they set them up.

The Fritz!Box also has a ton more features. Like proper VoIP, so you can use other VoIP providers, an in-build DECT basestation for cordless phones, mesh wireless networking, parental filters etc.

For you.

For average joe the SHG has significantly better Wifi which will matter a lot more.
