    HI,
Both my wife and I work PAYE jobs. Wifey has does some consultancy on the side - I'm trying to pay her tax for 2017 consultancy work using ROS form 11.
After much palaver I now can access from 11 on ROS - what a nightmare!
Does anyone know of a better/simpler way to pay this tax so I can get on with my life?

    Best,
    LMIMBOR

    Use an accountant?

What exactly are you having issues with and are you sure its a form 11 you should be using? What's her taxable profit for the year?

Form 12 much simpler than Form 11.

Use form 12 if net profit is less than 5k.

    Thanks for your response

"What exactly are you having issues with"
    It's complexity and poor usability.

"are you sure its a form 11 you should be using?"
No idea... those sons of fun at revenue pointed me that way??

"What's her taxable profit for the year"
Dunno about profit, but her consultancy earnings amounted to approx 6K

If after she deducts her expenses for her consultancy work her taxable profit is over 5k, it's a form 11 you file through ROS. If you are jointly assessed all your income from your PAYE employments along the non PAYE income must be included. Most of the fields on the form won't apply to you so you can leave them blank.

Have a go with the form and if you get stuck post back. If after that you are still stuck, it's time for an accountant.

Relax carry on - u seem to know a bit about ROS. I'm a first time user & stuck. I do not have Form 11 in dropdown box - so assume I'm doing something wrong. Have downloaded digital cert to Adobe but cannot open it ? Any advice would be freatly appreciated

what is the file name that you are trying to open?
Have you tried the ROS offline option, which allows you work on the file, outside/offline ros, and then upload in ros

Hi, I am thinking you called your Digital Cert "Form 11", the Digital Cert, is not designed to be opened it is a program file that you keep on your computer in order to access ROS.

Have a look at the link below, it has instructions on how to load your certificate onto ROS:
