A Catholic bishop has said he is establishing a "delivery ministry" of people who will attempt to rid others of the devil and warned that using reiki or other new-age healing methods could open one up to the possibility of encountering malevolent spirits.

Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan said he had received "several requests" from people to help deal with evil forces and that one priest in his diocese of Waterford and Lismore is about to start training in the practice of exorcism.

He said he was told by the brother of a reiki master that the man was "working on somebody one day when he actually says he saw a vision of Satan" and was "scared out of his wits, dropped the reiki and went back to the Church".

"You're channelling energies, in inverted commas, you could well be opening yourself up to letting a spirit in which is not good and is dangerous stuff, actually."

How can a mentally capable adult seriously think in this way?

Not sure if letting a "reiki master" try and cure you is that much saner, tbh.

I wonder how many 'malevolent spirits' have whirled around Seminary College in Ireland over the years? Because going by evidence and facts, it seemed to produce enough 'demons' to bugger and beat countless numbers of Irish children.

In an inteview with the Irish Times, Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan suggested that the Gardasil vaccine is only ’70 per cent safe’ and that the experience of the Regret group who have concerns it should not be ‘rubbished’.
Although the vaccine is backed by the World Health Organisation and other scientific bodies, he maintains there are ‘conflicting opinions’ about its safety.
Bishop Cullinan suggested that the money being spent on obtaining the injection would be better spent on encouraging young people to stay chaste.
He also says that the vaccination may lead women to engage in unsafe sexual activity leading to increased risk of infection and serious health problems.

It doesn't matter how many malevolent spirits have whirled around Irish seminaries or anywhere else over the years. The priests are innocent. It's all the malevolent spirits fault.
