I have a Huawei psmart, only got it last week and all was fine. The other day all of a sudden ads keep popping up. In the corner of the random ads the words “ad choices” comes up. When I click on it I try and disable the ads there is no option to fully do it, it’s driving me mad 😡. And I have tried everything online to stop the ads. I have no new apps that I have installed either. Has anyone had this problem, any help much appreciated 🙂

Are the ads coming from apps or are they coming from the notification section on top or are they just popping up on your home screen?

Back in the good old days it was a rogue app. Uninstalling apps one by one would do it, and it was usually linked to a game or other China-based app. You will have to dabble with settings to block peeking and change permissions to not allow overlay for some apps.

Recently Huawei and other Chinese manufacturers are rolling out ads to phones outside of China. They are built-in to the OS and people are getting annoyed. A few youtube tech reviewers have brought the subject up in India and the States already.

    Check your apps
    Check your app settings
Then check more info online if your phone is doing this regularly.

Android WARNING - Own one of THESE phones? Your device could be loaded with malware
To check if your Android device is infected with the RottenSys malware, head to the Android system settings.

Then, Check Point advised, go to the App Manager and check for the following malware packages and uninstall them:

    • android.yellowcalendarz

    • changmi.launcher

    • android.services.securewifi

    • system.service.zdsgt

    Edit: -

XDA Thread about it and More about RottenSys
