Hoping someone can help identify this noise. Only started recently on my Bmw f30 70,000 km recorded. Happens at idle and when the engine is not under load, eg at low revs and when engine is idlying. Seems to only happen once the engine has warmed up (it’s not there on cold start)
Sounds like a fan belt to me but not sure.
Car running fine otherwise but the noise is doing my head in

Can't identify sorry, but seeing it's at idle would suggest a vibration noise from a loose part of exhaust/ something touching exhaust or anything that vibrates at that particular rev around 700 rpm.

PS You'd want to stick your head in Bay or underneath.

Thanks, it’s definitely coming from engine bay. When I open the bonnet funnily though it’s harder to hear it due to the engine noise.

Get or make up a hearing tube bit like old gramaphone ( roll up cardboard) put to ear, pinpoint origin.

Unfortunately I can't help you with your problem but I'm having my own noise coming from the engine bay. I think mine is coming from the air filter (I think?) at the front of the engine bay because when I press down on it when the engine is idling, it stops. Though when I'm driving, it sounds like something else.
