    useless, they let the light in at the top and sides

    Installed Bloc blinds in one room and they are great. Light tight really.
    Bloody expensive though!

    Combination of a blackout roller and heavy curtains should be enough. Virtually impossible to block out all light without covering the edges like a Bloc blind, but the roller + curtain should get almost everything.

    Unless you like absolute darkness, in which case the Bloc is your only option.
