    Hi everybody.

Need a bit of advise, I have just bought a 131 Peugeot 3008 1.6ehdi from a local dealer, it's an absolute beauty to drive, however I have noticed it is using an awful lot of diesel since I got it.

I am bringing it back to the dealer on Monday for a look, but in the mean time I was wondering if anybody had the heads up on what the cause is, many thanks in advance.

Maybe it's normal for that type car? How have you measured the fuel consumption? What are you comparing the fuel consumption to, your last car? What sort of driving are you doing?

    Hi Baz.
I was roughly basing it on the monetary value of fuel I used in my previous car (15 year old petrol Toyota), it would appear I was getting more value for 30 euro petrol than diesel.

Your not comparing like with like. What was your old car and what sort of driving do you do? You need to fill the tank from near empty, reset the trip computer and take note of the number of litres you put in and at what price per litre at the pump, then measure how many miles until your next fill and calculate the mpg from that.

Basing your calculations from sticking €30 in on every car you've owned is flawed to be honest and not an accurate way of calculating proper fuel consumption. There are too many variables to take into consideration.

God, I know it not accurate one bit, that was a very rough estimate, to be honest I was use to driving bangers and this Peugeot is the first nearly new car I've every had, I'll take your advice onboard, fill the tank etc and let y'all know how I get on, thanks again.

My Wife used to have the exact same but in the 5008 141. From memory and over the course of 4 years it averaged 46mpg or 6.1L/100km. That was very mixed driving use. No real sustainied City use.

I recently bought the exact same car and same year :)

My current average mpg over the past 300km (mixed city and motorway) is around 38 mpg.

    What's your current mpg?

    We have a 152 2008 1.6HDi and in 3 years have averaged 5.0 l/100km. Mixed use.

Hi guys, it would appear that I am getting 37 / 39 mpg on my 131 Peugeot 3008 ehdi, and that's mixed driving. It appears to me to be a bit on the low side for a diesel???
