VW Bora Wishbone and ball joint replaced. Tracking?

    I changed LHS Wishbone and ball joint on the 02 VW Bora for the NCT.
    It seems to be perfect on the road - dead straight and not pulling left or right.
    Do I need to get it tracked now?

    You do, it’s as cheap as a retest anyway so may aswell get it done.

    I do it myself..builders line or similar stretched at hub level between wheels on one side, adjust steering wheel until front wheel is parallel to back, then check other side is the same. Has always worked for me.

    Its always a good idea to get the steering tracked fairly regularly in any case, but especially after changing any suspension arms etc. Bear in mind that generally, front wheel drive cars tracking are toed-out, and rear wheel drive cars are either parallel or toed-in. It depends on the settings for that particular make of car. This has to be done using tracking gauges, its the only reliable way. Just make sure that after fitting, the car needs to be driven for a bit ( 1 or 2 KLMs ) and the arms allowed to settle in before tracking it. Were the Track Rod Ends replaced or disturbed in any way?
