    Hi All,

First post, so go easy on me!

I'm looking to buy my own house soon and have the money saved for a deposit. I am on a decent salary and will be going to see the bank in the next two weeks about a mortgage application.

Currently working in Dublin, but travel there every day to work.

With house prices the way they are, I can't afford a house in a decent area in Dublin, so am looking at Cork. You certainly get a lot more house for the money down in Cork.

Since I work in financial services, I will be looking to continue working in this industry. My question is - are there many financial services jobs in Cork these days?

BNY Mellon and Citco have big offices down in Cork. May or may not be commutable but State State have a huge presence in Kilkenny and Northern Trust have a huge presence in Limerick.

Alter Domus are recruiting at the moment for their Cork office in the Airport Business Park.

You also have Hedgeserv in Mahon and Clearstream in the Airport Business Park too. I think Apex Fund Services are in Middleton and IPES in Blackpool.

    Thank you both.

I've been searching and also found Clearstream are recruiting.

Obviously Cork can't compare to Dublin in this area, but I'm still finding that there aren't that many jobs in financial services, considering Cork is the second biggest city.
