Hello everyone , does anyone know where can I go to get a rear camera installed with LCD screen for my car in the Dublin area ( North county Dublin preferably)

And how much will it cost, if anyone knows that too... Cheers.!

Moved to Motors as it doesn't relate to Detailing.

Damn. This thread reminds me to ask the exact same question, but for Cork. Sorry for the hijack. If anyone knows, PM me to avoid polluting the OPs thread.

Wifes 2013 Nissan Note (facelift model) + a tight enough driveway means I need some sort of parking guidance for her (camera or sensors).

The first thing to do would be to check out if this car ever came with a factory option reverse camera.
Does it have the same screen as the one with the camera etc?

If so it could be a simple matter of getting as camera and retro fit it, then code it in if needs be.

I did it on my Mondeo.
Factory one at the time was a €500/600 option ( Can't remember to be honest as I skipped past that option with the cost of it.

I went and got everything needed for the job that cost me less than €25 plus a bit of time and patience.
I looks 100% factory except it doesn't have the bendy lines on the screen. But are those really needed?
I also retained the sensors in the rear bumper.

There was an option of the Nissan 360 cameras on the tekna models in the note.

Probably nothing to do with the car, and more to do with the head unit. If the Nissan connect 2 can handle a reversing camera then i'd assume it'd just need to be connected up, and that module coded up.

EDIT: Pretty sure where the "CAMERA" button would be on the head unit is blanked off. Not too promising of a start.

Just get a rear view mirror with a camera screen built into it.

I would imagine that would cover the county part of the reg plate?

In the Touran, I am not 100% sure. but todo a retro fit could be expensive as you MAY need a module among other bits.
Sorry I can't be of more help now.
Black Knight did a retro fit to his Passat CC as far as I remember?
He can possibly offer some assistance.

I sure did. I did it myself, so I don't really have an answer for you regarding where it can be done, or for how much, but maybe I can shed some light as to what you might need to consider and where the money is going.

    Here's my thread:
    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057201606

    Specifically this post.

The cost would depend on what finish you want. If your boot release is the VW badge, and that's the type camera you want, the the cost would be quite a bit more. The badge camera kit was about 3-400 euro from what I remember. If you want the reversing camera that has the guide lines that move when you turn the steering wheel, they're a bit more expensive again. It also requires the right type head unit in your car in order to be able to display the video image.

Check here to see what type head unit you have:
    https://smartworldcompany.com/how-to-recognize-my-vw-volkswagen-car-radio-infotainment-system-head-unit/

I had an RCD 510 unit (which it says can be adapted to take a camera input, I didn't know this actually) but I upgraded to an RNS 510. They're about 5-600 euro second hand, but anyone with a T6 screw driver can replace them.

It took me 6 hours to swap out the badge, run the wiring and code things up, but with a bit of experience I could probably cut that in half.

    Alternatives
Don't go OEM and save a few quid. It's the easiest and cheapest option, but depending on the limitations it might not have the best aesthetics. Generic license plate cameras are super cheap, but then i'm not sure how the video feed is connected into the head unit on those (hacks needed), or whether a 3rd party head unit would be required which supports video in. There's always the option of fitting a stand alone monitor for the video feed, or as mentioned a rear view camera that has a video display in it.

not tidy, but I put a camera on the back of my caravan.

the monitor fits over the rear view mirror, which is useless with the caravan on anyway.

    cost about €25 on ebay

I have these in my cars https://www.amazon.co.uk/YI-Dual-Recording-Touchscreen-All-Glass-Dashboard/dp/B0792Z4M4Z/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1539766287&sr=8-5&keywords=yi+dash+cam

Took me about 20 minutes to install. I connected the reverse camera sensor to the reverse light, so when the reverse light comes one, the rearview mirror automatically turns into a rear view screen.

I went super cheap. Ordered some parking sensors off AliExpress. About €15

I was going to order a system that allowed a camera to be added, but chickened out. If there was a nice place to mount a monitor in the car, or if the cars head unit took video in i'd of gone for it, but there isn't. I like to keep things OEM looking, or at best keep them subtle.
About €25 for the sensors, another €15 for a camera, and another €20 maybe for a display.

We got the number plate light with camera built in and the monitor for something like €27 from Ali. Great yoke and still works.
