Birthday present recommendation

Hi all, it’s the OH’s 40th next month and was thinking of buying him a watch. Can anyone offer some recommendations? Unfortunately the budget won’t stretch to a Rolex this year...capped at ~€700ish. Was looking at a Tissot, are these a good brand for that price range? Would prefer a leather strap or dark bracelet with similar dark face. Thanks for any help!

I got a Seiko presage cocktail last year. Sounds like it fits the description you're giving. Gets some nice comments when I wear it - a nice looking watch.

Seems about right. I had one similar and bought/sold it second hand for around 200 if I recall. Really nice piece.

Thank you all for your thoughts, rec's and advice. I am thinking now of upping the budget and getting him a Raymond Weil. However as another poster said I may be better off asking him exactly what design he would like. We are due our first son shortly and I thought it could be a nice family heirloom to pass on.
