I was thinking of getting a double bale handler for the 4355 . I have a loader on front .
It has a lift capacity of 5 ton .
Just wondering if it would be too much on the tractor or would I be as well off sticking with one front and back .
What have other lads on their mf4355.
    Thanks in advance .

Bought a 04 mf4355 low profile last year and a nugent double bale handler great job well able for it. My draws are short but I'd only put a 3rd bale on the loader if the grass was dry.

Is that the handler with the double rams? What you think of it?

Would you use it with heavy wet bales? Just wondering as was thinking the same for a 4370. Is it just being greedy

I probably wouldn't as it's all fusion bales we make . Now we have been lucky the last 5 years that we got silage cut and baled and wilted in dry weather .. but that wet year is coming for us . So I'm not sure is it dogging the tractor or not .

Made 20 fresh bales during the week all fusion bales cut at half 2 baled at 6 and brought 2 on the back no bother. It's like anything take ure time and don't dog it. Some lads would break anything

Do not think it has a lift capacity of 5 tons. If it has the stronger lift capacity it is two tons capacity.unless tractor data is wrong. I see loads of machinery dealers quoting wrong HP on tractors. As well as lift capacity you need the back end that can handle the weight. If stabliser's and arms are not strong enough they will snap.

Seen one of them twin handlers tear the splines out of a jd 6610 lift arm.
Wouldn't use one myself unless bales were well wilted.

Ya I see from that it is only 2 ton ....
I read the article attached on agriland and it said 4 ton with optional 5 ton and I thought the two hydraulic rams were giving the extra ton lift . But I suppose the more I think about it that is a fair lift for a middle sized tractor .

Can't attach for some reason .. but if you type in buyers guide to me 4355 on Google it with come up on the first few links under agriland .. the info is in a grey box about half way down article .

Didn't someone post on here before about a 390 splitting in half working a double handler.

The weight of bales can vary a lot.... Two heavy damp bales would test any tractor.....

And human nature is to test it till it fails in a lot of cases

Tractor data for 4370 have 2 different lift weights one is 2500kg the other is 3500kg.
Ours has the double heavy type assistor rams but what are the different listed weights mean?

Usually they come with one as standard second one gives that extra 500kgs to give 2 ton. If you even look at the arms andstablisers they are nowhere near strong enough for a 4 ton lift capacity.

AFAIK a lot of hydraulic systems around the noughties had one assistor ram so the second one would suggest that yours is capable of lifting the heavier weight. To lift two bales you would need a lift capacity of over 3 ton IMO as the capacity is checked more or less at the ball of the arms. But as well as capacity you need heavy duty arms and stabilisers.

Your probably right Bass Reeves ... damn it you just killed my bale gathering by a third .. oh well more for the brother inlaw :))

Bring a bale on the back and one on the front loader here with a 390T. No problem.

Had thought about getting a double handler for it, but decided against it after.

How do you get the 3 in the back.. is it one on top of two in the field and pick with double bale handler .

You need a greedy board welded up from toplink mount, or the top bale will join you in the cab.
