    Hi all

Quick question. i have a spc430 with spcn320 sms modem, been working fine for the last 3 years but i foolishly forgot to top the sim up and the sim has been disabled.

brought and activated a new sim installed it but get error e43/10.

i think i found the reason.

firmware prior to 3.8 is 2g compatible only. (mines 3.10)

the sim i got is on the three network which is 3g/4g.

    firmware after 3.8 3g compatible.

so my question is can the firmware on the modem be updated?

    Thanks in advance

I think the hardware has to be upgraded for 3G.
Get a 2g sim from Vodafone or Eir or get your existing sim reactivated.

Thanks for that. Think it's the handiest.

It's was a Vodafone SIM in it originally.

If its just expired due to inactivity or renewal or credit they should reactivate it for you.
After that or replacing the SIM the panel will have to be powered down & up again to initialize the SIM.
