pedigree papers

    Hi All,
    I got a pup in 2013. Got the pedigree papers but I lost them somewhere while changing the house. I spoke with the girl in IKC to get a copy of it. She couldn't find my dog in database, she said the system doesn't have the microchip number. She asked what is dog's registration number or registration name. I don't know as I don't have the paper.
    Any Ideas how to get the pedigree papers back and why she can't find my dog in database if I had the paper?

    You're absolutely certain it's the Irish Kennel Club your dog is registered with?
    There was an alternative registry called Canine Ireland (if memory serves) but I don't think they're still up and running. But they were certainly in operation a few years ago.
    Any chance your dog is registered to them, not the IKC?

    Did you get the papers changed into your name when you got the pup?

    You can also be given Pedigree Papers which are basically the dogs family tree & yet it still might not be registered. What you actually need is the Registration Cert. This is also the Transfer ownership form.
