Fitting turbo back onto engine head - Ford Transit

    Hi Guys,
Apologies if my terminology isn't quite correct, but hopefully you get the point. The turbo is being refurbished & refitted on my 2005 Ford Transit. There was huge difficulty getting it off in the first place, the bolts holding the turbo onto the engine head sheared when trying to take it off. Most of the broken bolts stuck in the engine head could be drilled out and made ready for refitting - but there's one awkward bolt stuck in the back that my mechanic can't get in at to drill it out. To get at it, the whole engine block would have to be disconnected and slid out to get at the bolt - a massive job.
The mechanic is suggesting that there are 6 good bolts there to secure the turbo in place, he doesn't think the last one is quite needed - he's suggesting he goes ahead with 6 bolts and does some small weld in the location where the 7th bolt would be. What does anyone think? Does this sound like a feasable\reliable thing to do?

    Thanks
