    Hi,

I work freelance and earn roughly 17,500 euro per year. I only started freelance this year, but im trying to get my tax affairs in order.

What im slightly confused about is VAT. According to revenue you only need to register for vat when providing services if your turnover is 37,500 euro per year. The majority of my clients are companies outside the eu, and furthermore, im not above the threshold.

Does this mean I should be charging VAT in my freelance services? I have yet to make an invoice for a client that included VAT as I didn't know if it applied to me. In truth, Im still not quite sure.
