My Huawei screen has developed multiple cracks (maybe because I dropped it countless times) There's no way I can afford 100 euro for a new screen to be fitted.....but I've seen replacement screens online for around 12 euro. The job itself is clearly detailed step-by-step on YouTube, I'm thinking of chancing it. Has anyone done a similar DIY repair, and if so, is it as manageable as it looks?

it's pretty tricky and easy to damage things - tough to get right the very first time your're trying it. you need all the tools (heatgun, specialist flat pry tool etc) that they have to remove the back correctly. the most likely thing that will happen is that you'll damage the plastic midframe (what holds the stuff inside together between the front and back) as they are fairly delicate and it then won't fit back together correctly (that's assuming you don't damage a ribbon connector or something else in the process).

between getting a heatgun, the other tools and a screen you'd be looking at 50 euro maybe.
add to that the expected value of the risk of breaking something you'd be maybe better off shopping around repair shops for a better deal or scrapping the whole idea and just getting a new phone - see it as an "upgrade opportunity".

another option is to buy the screen and bring it to a repair shop asking how much they will do if for then seeing as they don't have to buy the screen.

Depending on your phone you could get the whole screen digitizer and frame.
Job is a lot easier then changing the screen on its own.
