So basically I buddy is organising a games competition. It is a 1v1 style knockout competition. We start with 185 We need it to get down to 28 Ideally having a few rounds, and people can get byes in the first couple of rounds. As there is a pre-existing ranking system. So we can utilise that if needs be. Any and all help…

Any and all help greatly appreciated, it's been wrecking my head for a few days. I keep getting to odd numbers at end of rounds

Round 1: 39 byes, 73 matches - go from 185 people down to 112
Round 2: 56 matches - 112 down to 56
Round 3: 28 matches - 56 down to 28
