    Hi All
Just a quick question, anyone here using the My Phone application on Windows 10 to link their Android phone? Microsoft seem to be pushing it quite heavily with the October update
Just curious about it,any good or buggy or heavy battery drain etc
    Thanks in advance :)

Looks handy enough for instantly being able to access photo's on your phone (rather than having to transfer them or sync them to your cloud storage) and for SMS messages.

A few years ago I used to use https://www.pushbullet.com for this sort of stuff but found it intrusive and a bit finiky so dropped it and now use the WhatsApp Win App and Microsoft Messages web browser to take care of messaging from my desk/lap top but this looks like it could replace the MS Messages tab in my browser whilst also enabling me to quickly access any photo's I have on my phone which is an added bonus.

Thanks for bringing this (eventually ;) ) to my attention!!

    Haha I know I'm a mess!!
Wonder would it be a battery hog

Couldn't uninstall the Win or the Android app or both?

I very much doubt that's the case.

Ref battery. I'll connect the phone app to my laptop as and when I need to e.g. if I want to write a relatively long SMS or if I want to access my phone photo's but I'll disconnect afterwards rather than leaving it connected or searching for a connection all the time.

TBH WhatsApp has almost eroded SMS as a chat type channel. I still get courier delivery notifications and other business/corporate notices or reminders by SMS from time to time but they are mostly one way traffic that don't require responses. It's rare these days to be communicating at any length over SMS rather than WhatsApp and the WhatsApp App for Windows works fantastically well.

Dunno I was reading the reviews and someone said they couldn't uninstall which sounded odd

If you use Opera browser whatsapp is there built in, find it really handy.

It's not all that useful yet, it only handles text messages and photos. The photos is a bit redundant as similar functionality can be achieved through onedrive.

It works for me on my computer running version 1809 but not on the computer running 1803.
