    Which had better resale value?

I do a lot of mileage and need to get a suv type car to allow a family member to easily get out of car.

    Which would you chose?

    Any advice appericated?

Resale Qashqai but high miles probably make that less of a factor. Sportage is a bit dearer to buy new and is a bit bigger inside.

If high mileage it wont matter, both will lose value very quickly

I’d rather do the mileage in a Sportage

    Tiguan myself

I done huge mileage in a company car Qashqai and it was ok but I had the option of a Tiguan and I always regretted it

The Sportage for me always sounded like a tractor when starting.....if going that route I would go for the ix35 which is a more refined Sportage

I’m talking about the current model Sportage. Can’t see how an ix35 would sound any different on startup given it’s the same engine.

Every diesel sounds like a tractor when starting from cold tbf.

Had diesels for years due to doing high mileage. Now own a petrol and I had forgotten how refined they are compared to diesels. Power output is so much more linear than a diesel as well.

Why so many buy them when there driving style doesn't require one is beyond me.

It was a 2012 but start an ix35 and a Sportage from 2012....

The 2012 starts like a tractor.....

All cars sound different, sit in a Skoda and sit into a VW/Audi and notice the difference......

1.5 dci in Quasqai would probably be more economical than Sportage but other than that Sportage/Tucson for me.

Why not compare similar spec and mileage of the same age on older versions of these 2 models. Should give a better idea. I imagine there wouldn't be much in it.

Actually the Sportage is a very economical car. I would say the Sportage is more economical then the Qashqai.

Bear with me - this may sound silly but.....

How tall is your family member.

My mum has hard to get in and out of the car issues.

But an SUV/Crossover wouldnt actually work for her because it's actually hard for my mum to get her leg up into the lower floor of a normal car.

My mum is quite short which means the roofline being lower isn't such an issue.

It all comes down to how easy it is to move into a particular seat position on an individual car for an individual.

Try the cars out with your family member and see.

I’ve only had limited experience of driving both as rentals, but the Qashqai was more economical for me.
