Do you need insurance? I've found them as a rule to be poor value, expensive with a lot of exceptions. You'd buy a decent android phone for c. E250, how much will you pay for insurance, against the potential return if something happens?
Each case is different, but generally it's bad value IMHO.

Insurance with UBank was very good. Probably why they cancelled it!

Any other opinions on getting this insurance?

If you have household contents insurance, you can see if it can be added as a specific item.

Probably not as comprehensive as dedicated phone insurance, but very cheap.

would a claim not increase your premium tho meaning that you're effectively paying for it in the longer term on your household insurance so not really worth it.

It's a possibility. I specifically asked about this, and the answer was "it depends" - they take the circumstances into account at renewal time. There is no "no claims discount" as such, and they said there would be no automatic increase.

    Worth keeping in mind though.
