Job Grades

Can anyone advise on obtaining job grades through HR. Our company has changed name over a year ago now and I have changed to a different role. I requested a wage increase as one of the previous employees has since left and they have not filled this position and I have taken on additional responsibilities. What they have done is changed our job title ie. Job Title (Grade 11), however I have no clarity on the company grading system.

All I got from HR is your grade is 11 and your operations manager is grade 14. Am I entitled to know the graded system and how would you go about looking for it. Also I seem to be a 'Dept Lead' as I am the only one in our Dept for the company, yet I am not attending the SLT meetings. Could anyone enlighten on how to approach this.

Yes, your HR is being ridiculous. Ask her for an explanation of what Grade 11 means in your company.

I know what grade 11 means, but i feel that i am taking on responsibilities of a higher grade. Is it not too much to ask for grade 12/13 job specs so that we can do a check.
