Shipping item with battery and insurance to the UK?

I am selling a sealed unopened laptop online which I expect to go to someone here in Ireland or the UK, and while investigating the different courier options this morning, I was reminded that batteries are prohibited for packages sent by airmail. An Post recommended DHL for any UK delivery containing a battery, and DHL quoted me €70 with an additional €10 to insure the item. I value it at ~€1200 so need the insurance just in case.

Parcel2go.com provides six much cheaper quotes than this, but all prohibit batteries. I understand that if a battery is detected by the airline, the item could be at worst destroyed, and at best returned to sender. And also, that it could impact any insurance payout should damage occur.

Dimensions are 45cm x 31cm x 11cm, and the weight is 2.75kg. This allows an extra 2cm and 250g for packaging.

An post also quoted me €21.50 for delivery within ROI, including insurance, but if say the screen were damaged, they would only pay for repairs, rather than the entire laptop, which would not restore the depreciation to the the value that would occur since the box would no longer be sealed.

Are there any better options than these?
