Laminate Flooring Fitting

I am putting down laminate flooring in a bedroom. I was working out the measurements on how many board's it would work out in each direction taking into account the gaps for expansion.
Ok so I on the starting wall I would be leaving 10 mm gap provided by spacer's and run the boards parallel with the longer span of the room. The thing is when I would make my way across to the other side of the room ( 15 boards ) where I finish, it will work out that I will have a 45/50mm gap to the wall. I know I will need 10mm of this for expansion. This leaves a very skinny piece to have to cut of the long side of 4 boards to fill the rest of gap, making a lot of wastage.
Is there any other way that I could do this ?

Think you put this in the wrong section unless the flooring consists of iphones!

I believe there is an app for that

Start with a half of a board or if you are really worried about symmetrical looks and have enough to spare, start with a half board plus 20mm.

That's life. There's always going to be wastage with flooring/tiling etc.

It'll never work out like you hope. You''ll be buying full boxes (stores do not sell individual boards) consisting of up to 10 per pack, depending on board depth. just measure L x W, multiply it out and get enough boxes to do the job. Laminate is cheap as chips these days.

Not much to be done about except get a decent saw. Cutting those boards lengthwise is a total pain with a hand saw.
