    1. Is our water drinkable?

    You can find a list of water sample results for your area, with a breakdown of the parameters we test for on wtr.ie/WaterQuality.

    Often, after works have occurred, supply can appear discoloured or cloudy. We recommend not consuming this water until it clears and, if possible, to run the cold tap for approximately ten minutes in order to resolve the discolouration.

    You can find more on supply discolouration here.

    2.  My water is off this morning and I have not received any notification of works, why is this?

    You can find all information in relation to works on our website at the following link: https://www.water.ie/water-supply/supply-and-service-update/#

    If your area is not listed here and your cold kitchen tap is affected, please send a PM with the below details:

    - Name;
    - Address; and
    - Contact number.

    3. I have not received my refund yet. Can you help?

    We are currently working to ensure that all refund cheques are issued. If you have yet to receive your refund cheque, please provide the following information by PM and we can investigate further.

    - Name;
    - Address;
    - Account Number; and
    - WPRN.

    4. How can I report a strange taste or smell in my water?

    A change in the taste or smell in your tap water can be due to a number of reasons, which you can learn more about at the following link: https://www.water.ie/water-supply/supply-issues/taste-smell/

    If you are concerned about water quality in your area, please contact Irish Water Operations on 1850 278 278. Our lines are open 24/7.

    Alternatively, you can contact us here on Boards or on Twitter @IWCare and we will be happy to help.

    5. What is the level of hardness in my water supply?

    As hard water has no associated health risks, we would be unable to provide information for levels of water hardness for specific areas.

    More information about water hardness can be found here

    If you would like to get your water tested to check if you have hard water, you can find a list of accredited testing facilities at www.inab.ie/Directory-of-Accredited-Bodies/Laboratory-Accreditation/Testing.
