Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've bought an old Sony Trinitron CRT tv to use with old games consoles. There seems to be an issue with shaking of the screen.
Any idea how to fix this?

    Shaking ?

Shimmer, wobbling , not syncing ?

Are you using the best signal Component , SCART , Composite , RF ?

    BTW
If you look very closely you should see the two wires holding the grills.

Just using a composite cable. The scart adapter doesn't seem to work.

What you mean by wires holding the grills?

One third down and two thirds down you'll see a very, very thin black line.

Try degauss - there is usually an option somewhere in the menus.

After that - Id try better/thicker video cables -

And if still not better - probably down to the capacitors needing replacing as it must be a very old tv by now - this can be a messy and potentially dangerous job to fix on these old tvs.

CRTs have a short image persistence level. Some people are susceptible to the flicker of the field refresh of 25Hz. LCD panels have a relatively long image persistence which masks the refresh flicker. The "shaking" you're seeing may well be just the field refresh that you're not used to seeing from your everyday LCD screen.
