Ordering Aliexpress- first timer

Hi! I'm ordering from Aliexpress for the first time and have a few questions:

    1) Do I have to keep my total order under 22 euros to avoid custom charges or is it okay since my orders are separate items/ will be delivered at different times???

    2) I want to order a hoodie but the seller has zero orders and feedback on this specific item, although the store itself has good 90+% feedback, would that be ok? Or am I risking it?

    3) Also, I'm having a hard time using their new customer voucher code, anyone had any success using it?

    Thank you!

I'm pretty sure that's not an option on Aliexpress

Meh. Tesco's don't accept Paypal either.

I've ordered plenty stuff from Aliexpress and have never had issues with them. I had a few cases where items either didn't arrive or were substandard and in all cases refunds were given promptly.

Of course you're taking a chance on buying cheap chinese stuff but I don't see it as a bigger issue than buying cheap chinese stuff from Ebay or Amazon

Just be aware Chinese sizes are different...an example I take XL here but when ordering from China I buy XXXL.

Never had any problem buying from Ali, biggest problem can be slow An Post delivery which seems to vary like the weather at times.

Also as long as each package is under 22 Euro including postage if any, you will not be liable for customs.

To be fair it's hardly An Post that causes the lengthy delivery times. They can only take care of the package once it reaches Ireland. Max a day either way.

There is a thread about it here on boards...it explains it all there.

Note that nothing moves in China from 1-7 Oct due to Chinese National Holiday week.

An Post admitted to a boards member that they can take up to 4 weeks to deliver.

I tried an experiment once. Same item bought and shipped the same day. One went Royal Mail to Parcel Motel, one went through An Post.

Parcel Motel got here 2 weeks sooner.

AliExpress uses their own Alipay. They are excellent when it comes to refunds and disputes. I’ve bought a couple of hundred items from AliExpress. I’ve disputed a few things like item not arriving...even a bike saddle bag that didn’t measure up in size as advertised. Every single time I got my money back. I never had to return an item either in order to get my money back.

AliExpress is up there with Amazon when it comes to purchasing. The only thing is the wait times and it is usually down to An Post.

sooh interesting. Everything I buy costs less than Parcel Motel charges or thereabouts.

I imagine, BUT don't know for sure , that all this bulked air freight stuff from China lands first in Brexitland.

Somebody here from an Irish air freight receiving might know:confused:

Ive ordered several items from Wish and Ali and they still havent arrived. All apple watch accessories and phone cases that were ordered around the same time. A good few items are down as "arrived at destination country" between 7th and 13th of september and no sight nor sound of them, so yes i'd put it down to AP

Bye the bye, this ridiculously cheap postage is also in Trump's sights. I've bought €0.99 phone cases (was good too!) with free p&p.

The effective collection rate is €26, below that its not charged.

Just about buying from a seller with no specific item feedback/reviews....I did this a while back, bought a full length formal dress from a seller with extremely positive feedback on other items but none on the one I wanted and it worked out fine, it's great quality and I'm delighted with it. Just make sure there is a sizing chart to refer to as the sizes will more than likely be small.

Not worth charging below that?...because technically they can.
