Give me back the Berlin wall
Give me Stalin and St. Paul
I've seen the future, brother It is murder
    Things are going to slide
    Slide in all directions
    Won't be nothing
    Nothing you can measure anymore
The blizzard, the blizzard of the world
    Has crossed the threshold
    And it has overturned
    The order of the sou
    l
There'll be the breaking of the ancient
    Western code
Your private life will suddenly explode

Was the bard of the boudoir, the great ladies man really a prophet that we should be paying attention to? What are the lessons we should learn from him?

No....no....I"m not exactly sober....yes I'm going to bed....but still this song... seems awfully prophetic....

Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

I'm telling ya.....a prophet so he was

Leonard Cohen was amazing, but I'm not sure if I can say the same of this thread..

Did he say the Kevin Barry song was written in 1916?

Not, perhaps his most prophetic work I'd have to say...
    This is the end
    Beautiful friend
    This is the end
    My only friend
    The end
    ....
Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
    All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah
    The west is the best
    The west is the best
Get here and we'll do the rest
The blue bus is calling us
The blue bus is calling us
    Driver, where you taking us?

But a gifted and troubled man he was. I wonder do they go hand in hand (gifted and troubled)
