Just came across these watches on Richard Markham's website:

So beautiful but, unfortunately, the vintage models are either no longer made or cost a fortune. Lovely though.

Gonna see if I can source a modern super comp.

Plenty of modern super compressor lookalikes.
Longines legend diver, Vostok Gaz14 for example (on phone here so no patience to find links right now!)
I have a pretty Landeron too.

If you don't mind me asking K, what's your budget? I say that as Here's a SuperCompressor cased Lip Nautic-Ski from France. The first "electronic" dive watch(don't worry it ticks, distinctive tick with it) from circa 1967, used by the Jacque Cousteau team and various famous divers and sailors(the "Ski" part comes from skiing being a pretty damp sport and were popular with that crowd too).

590 Euros with a make offer option. Me, I'd fire 560 at the chap and see what happens. These went for mad money at one time and have come back down a bit(though some dealers still reckon mad money, north of a grand). I'd say because the real fans already bought one kinda thing,

They wear large enough too as they're quite bulky(and built like a brick shithouse). Here's my example(second series from '69).

The first series black dialled ones are less gaudy, but I'm an oddball dial colour tart.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Was thinking of picking up one of these:

I must admit I have seriously considered the Dan Henry more than once. It was a toss up between that and the Landeron that I decided upon in the end.

    That's a bit nice!

I would classify the Alpina as a desk diver - its over a grand.

    Lovely piece though.

Oh I was talking about my watch, not slagging anyone else’s!

    I meant wouldn't, sorry, typo...

    The alpina is a beauty....

Gonna pass on the Dan Henry, its nice but I'll still want a vintage one if I buy it so I'll keep looking.
