Why was the main story on the 6.1 News about a Trump appointment to the Supreme Court?

Why are people so obsessed with everything related to him? Once he doesn't press the big red button we really shouldn't care this much.

40 minutes in and they finally got to the story of the 10th anniversary of the bank guarantee. Probably the most important single decision made in the country in decades. The state lost €60 billion from the whole fiasco!
Or let Fianna Fail brown envelope man Sean Gallagher be the main story explaining why he didn't participate in the first Presidential Candidate debate.
Or lead with that guy who tried to board a plane in Dublin Airport and showed his ass to the camera.

The main Irish News channel should lead with the main Irish News of the day imo!!!

They still haven't got over President Hillarys election defeat to Trump, they are still hoping for a recount.

One is the most powerful man in the World, and the other is some tinker fella running after an aeroplane with his arse hanging out, or something. I will admit that there are mornings when I can't really tell the diffetence.

This is basically the Clinton testimony of this generation. his appointment could shape the US Supreme Court for decades and be a big decider in what happens to Trump if indicted. It also plays into the #metoo movement.

    Is for people in Leitrim.

Or at least it will be when they get electricity and TV.

Which will probably be a few hundred years after they grasp the concept of banking and paying for things in currency other than having to carry around a pig under their arms
