Self tapping metal screws?

    Hi,

A top plate broke on my stove. Two screws were holding it down and in the process of trying to remove them - the two them broke at the base.

Rightly or wrongly, I drilled the remainder of the screws out using a 4.5m metal drill bit. Now I've got my replacement plate I need to refix it to the stove.

Obviously the threads are gone on the screw holes so I'm thinking of a self tapping metal screw (maybe 5mm) that would work it's way down the screwhole?

Am I talking sh1te here....do these type of screw/bolts even exist.....what are my options?

    Many thanks,
