An example is where you cut in front of another driver & then brake (because you didn't read the road ahead) causing the driver behind having to brake.

I've always assumed it's what you do but seems a lot just ignore.
They get a beep & headlight flash from me just so they fully realise they f**ked up.

A simple flash of the hazards or a wave, lets the other driver know that you're not a complete Di©k head and that you acknowledge what you did was a lapse of judgement.

In most cases , admitting you were wrong, enforces the others drivers belief that they were correct and you were an idiot, thus reducing the need to express their anger, thus reducing the possible result of a road rage incident.

    we've all made mistakes.

How does that make them 'fully realise'?

They may just think you're the problem - i.e. another aggressive driver to contend with.

Mistake? This is 101 in motorway driving. Or seems to be at least.

Yes I'd agree but on the flip side of this is the situation where perhaps you carry out a perfectly good move and the person behind who believes 30 mph is fast enough for anyone decides to flash their lights repeatedly after overtaking them. That annoys the crap out of me.

If you cut in front of me & jam on your brakes without acknowledging you did it & then get a beep & flash from the me behind you....A 'normal' person should realise they did wrong.

Failing to do anything might make them feel it's acceptable behaviour. (It isn't!)

Another aggressive driver...I was them one obeying the speed limit & watching the hazards in front of me! (Thankfully I have a dash cam to help prove should a crash occur as a result)

I would agree in that situation. This poll is more where a driver doesn't read the length of road & has to suddenly cut in front of a car & then brake & doesn't acknowledge their wrong doing.

I would agree, flashing just cause someone overtakes you for no good reason is also wrong.

I don't make mistakes, like a moth to a lamp my driving is perfect. :P
And if I did I'm in the fast lane so it's their fault anyway.
