    Hey all,

Not sure entirely where to ask this but thought here would find those more knowledgeable than I. Basically, I live in a rented apartment, in a building with 8/9 other apartments. There is a fire alarm system which sits outside our front door and I recently noticed that there were a number of errors being displayed.

What made me pay more attention was an incident with the over which caused a lot of smoke which I would have thought would set off the alarm. It never did and there was a lot of smoke.

So, taking a closer look at the alarm system it looks to me like all alarm sounds are disabled. Hopefully someone here will be able to shed more light on the errors (see pictures below) and whether I should be concerned...

Some alarms are smoke alarms and some are heat alarms. If it is a heat alarm it will not sound for smoke only for heat

It won't sound at all when all sounders are disabled as in the OP's case.

That it true but I didn't think op was certain of that.

Edit: I was on my phone originally and couldn't see any photos. I do see now where it seems all sounds are disabled.

Don't these have to be tested and certed annually?

The alarm panel is showing, among other things, that all sounders are disabled. A good way to stop any annoying ringing, but not much good for warning about fires.
It is also showing an earth fault, which is probably why it was disabled in the first place. You have no fire protection with the panel in this condition.

Thanks for the replies! - I knew it probably wasn't a good thing but always best to get another opinion before I raise it with the landlord.

Agree with the above. A fire alarm system such as this should have a service contract in place.
