Recruiters/General lack of courtesy

On the hunt for grad positions at the minute and it's absolutely painful tbh. The general attitude of Irish recruitment "professionals" I find to be the absolute opposite of the word in inverted commas and downright rude most of the time.

From the classic LinkedIn mail wanting to discuss opportunities, only to ghost off on learning that "No Sheila, I dont want to move to Dublin for a 1 year contract paying >€30k". To the overtly pushy, ring multiple times a day, suggest stupid "improvements" to the cv (No you dont need my referees yet you scab) (Is that weekend job I had at 15 REALLY gona swing this engineering role Paul?).

Employers own HR are no better; No reply beyond "Your application has been submitted" even a simple PFO email shows at least a pretence of courtesy. Ridiculously drawn out processes- 4/5/6 weeks between receipt of application-interview, then another 3/4 weeks of silence after that. Stupid outdated interviews designed to make the candidate feel awkward, uncomfortable( I do get it, instill the inferiority complex/slave mentality early, it sucks balls).

Is it just me feels like this? It cant be.

Recruiters are sales people, and the industry does seem to attract a lot of scummy people.

HR attracts a lot of lazy people.

The two work well together though. Many HR don't want to have to make the effort to find the right staff, so it's easier for them to pay a recruiter 10k+ to do their work for them.

    So your experience is normal.
