    Denso part no. 9098704004

Is there somewhere besides main dealer I can pick up 2 these or their equivalent?

    Lexus want €116
They are used in a lot of other Toyota's with years.

I'd have a look in ebay for second hand part.
Where are you? I have a few Toyota's relay which I took out when scraped my corolla 2004. One in brown type.

    Thanks lads.
I've seen the used ones on ebay.
I'm a bit worried about using secondhand ones as its a sort of a safety issue.

Theres a growing number of cases of people's (#me too) wipers stopping mid screen on various models of 300h from 2013 on.
    It's an intermittent problem.

One lad had 2 motors replaced by Lexus only to still have the issue.
Then he had the 2 brown relays replaced which seems to have sorted it.
If it is the relays that is the problem would all those relays going back years be problematic or could it be a bad batch or something???

Personally, I'd research what else it was fitted to and source out a set from cars in a breakers

I found these copies on Ali express.
I'm going to try them out just to see are they any better or worse than my crap first day ones.
At over €100 difference in the price for 2 off Lexus I reckon they are worth checking out anyway.

For anyone else that may be having the same issue here is where they are located (relay box cover removed)
    2vrvf3o.jpg

And a vid of the issue
Wipers didn't automatically come on when washers activated.
I had to switch them on manually.
    Then didn't automatically return.
Had to switch them on again to get them to return.

Apparently Lexus' solution is to first replace motor only for issue to still persist and then secondly replace relays.
Lexus also advice to change the motor on their tech website.

Honestly, I'd prefer 2nd hand instead of cheap Chinese spurious one, but each to their own. :)

Anyway, here's new one, looks genuine and significantly cheaper than from dealers:

    Only time will tell.
They are only relays, they will either stay working or stop working.
OE ones aren't reliable by any stretch of the imagination.

Any know if there are any used ones on eBay??:pac:

I wouldn't be too confident with them based on my experience with chinese bulbs.

They melted the h7 connectors and blew fuses.

I wouldn't use Chinese bulbs either.
A relay that wouldn't be in continuous use wouldn't be getting hot like your bulbs.
I'm not too confident in the genuine denso ones.
45k miles on the car and faulty already.
I'm interested to see how the cheepo ones compare with the denso ones.
    No biggie if they don't.

    No Biggie if they don't.

Earlier it was a serious safety issue.

Second hand was a better choice even though you bolded it to make a point...

Yeah,it would still be a safety issue with a used denso one that may be faulty.
How can you say a used denso is a better option?
Have you tested the ones I'll be getting or what?

Okay....someone tell me what I'm missing here?

Are these not just 5 pin micro relays or do they do something special other than switch stuff on and off?

You'd need to check the original one in the car at the moment ( cut it open and see ! )

Some have a resistor or similar across the coil

If the new one doesn't and you install it, it may blow the body computer

it's normally possible to find out.

Mind that part number in the OP doesn't seem to be a valid denso number. (maybe it's toyota?)

I've always found that the actual manufacturer (Denso) is a lot less concerned with publishing these details than the OEM (Toyota)

Mostly cause they seem to realise that this information is what allows them to sell them for 60 quid each rather than a tenner

One relay on that site has a diode, the other has a resistor.

You'd need to pick the right one or you might kill the body computer ( cut the old relay open to be sure ) :

( might keep someone looking at the thread in the future on the right track )

Oh I get that picking the wrong ones can cause problems, what I was getting at is that selling 2 new relays for 116 is outright robbery.

Let's be generous and say these things cost 20 euro each to the dealer (and they don't) then it's still a ludicrous markup.
