Can't find the answer anywhere short of ringing the GUI but hoping somebody might know here. If golf club membership at a club is say, for example, October to October and obviously that will include GUI membership. Is the GUI membership from January to December or 12 months from when you join the golf club. Wondering if you want to wait till a few months after Xmas to rejoin a club (potentially another one) can you still use you GUI number up to Xmas in Opens, golf comps etc?

I'm open to correction but I would say that is up to the individual club who hold your GUI handicap.
They can de-register you from golfnet when your membership expires.

If your no longer a member of a gui club.
You no longer have a gui number so entry into competitions is no longer an option.
The gui fees paid by clubs are individual yo each club

Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone know how long it takes to get your gui handicap after you have completed your 3 rounds. Im just getting back into golf after a 10 year absence.

Depends on your club and how busy your handicap secretary is. It's very hard to tell, each club is different.
