This product was recommended to me by my mechanic to fix the noise/whine from the differential in my Nissan 180sx. He says that a lot of customers with BMWs have used it with great success.

It seems to be a type of liquid ceramic material that you put into the gearbox or differential with the oil, and it coats any moving parts and eliminates noise and vibration.

It would be nice if the solution was that easy, but I'm not convinced! Has anyone had any experience with this stuff?

Reviews on ebay and Amazon seems to think it's good.
Your own mechanic says it's good.
Probably can't hurt to use it.

So I emailed the Irish distributor for this product to see which specific revitalizant I should go for as they seem to have a few. They recommended the following and gave me an explanation of what the product does.

    http://www.xado.ie/transmission/17-khado-1-stage-transmission.html

"The process of revitalization is self regulating due to friction, which occurs in the places of maximum wear and generates a lot of heat, that the revitalizant needs to make a bond to metal, when filling erupted metal surface. When the job is done and surface is covered with "baked" to it glass-look surface, the friction decreases and revitalization (surface layer growth) stops. The revitalizant will flow in the oil freely until the damage of the surface will occur and that free revitalizant will cover a new patch on the damaged surface.

If in short - there is no problem, if not all revitalizant will be used for restoration of metal parts on the very first use. It will stay in the oil and will work ass protection."

I'm still not entirely convinced. For €25 a pop you could say there's no big loss if it doesn't work, but at the same time I don't want to risk damaging the diff by adding this.

"Ass protection" for €25 is a rare bargain :D

p.s. Product sounds almost too good to be true.

I tried this before on a noisy gearbox and it made it quiet. It seems to work and is well worth the money.

In that case I might give it a go!
I found the reviews on amazon to be questionable due to the poorly written English and gushing endorsement of the products abilities.

Did you have any subsequent problems with that gearbox?

Nope. The van has covered approx. 10k km towing afterwards and everything is still good.
