    Hi all,

Just wanted your opinion on whether the below is a good deal.

15 vw Golf , 1.6 diesel, 35,000km, one owner, 12 month warranty, 110 HP. For sale in a reputable VW garage.

The avertised price is 16.5k less a trade in discount of 2k for my 11 year old astra.

I had a test drive a few days ago it’s a lovely smooth car to drive.

Is this a fair deal or should I keep looking

    Thanks

You cant go wrong with a Vw, however it would depend on the type of golf and the extras, is it a trendline, comfortline or highline? Which type would depend the extras, nicer alloys, sat navs etc

Why not sell the Astra privately? You will still probably get near 2k discount for buying straight with on trade-in. An 11 year old Astra is not going to be worth anything to a main dealer and they are just loading it's trade-in value against the high price on the VW. Also have you priced a similar car from a different dealer? You have no way of knowing if it's really a good deal unless you have a something to compare it with.

Thanks it’s a trendline. No sat nav but does have reverse parking sensors.

Can you expand on that statement a bit. I’m not sure what you mean?

Trendline is the basic model, bit of it fits your needs than that’s ok. The likes of Highline or even Allstar spec makes a much nice car out of them though.
