Did anyone listen to this chat on the Last Word?
He was a right scaremongerer about importing from the uk, and Matt Cooper never once called him out on the fact his website presumably only advertises Irish origin cars, so he has a huge vested interest in people not going to the uk for a car.
I've never bought a car from the uk myself, but bought an expensive motorbike in a private sale from Germany without seeing anything more than photos and it was a perfectly pleasant experience, a bit of research is all it took to ensure it went well.
I think this guy was full of it and only protecting his own interests.

Who doesn't protect their own interests though? He can hardly be blamed for that.

To expect an unbiased opinion from a source like that would be naive I suppose.
