I have a 2003 w211 and I drive it 150 kilometers to work. The problem is that the temp gauge does not go above 30 degrees and when I get to my last few kilometers then does the temp say 60/70 degrees. It is a bit erratic in its readings. Sometimes it looks correct and more than often its very low. Also the cabin heater does not put out hot air when I turn the dial up to max temp rather warm air. Is this related and what could be the problem. Lou

Possibly you are low on coolant, did you check coolant level?
