owning a still

    i know distilling is illegal.
    but 1. what are the laws around owning a still? for distilling water say.....

    and 2. what are the penalties for distilling spirits? i wasnt able to find many articles/examles on the web about this, im looking for court outcomes rather than the max penalty if you get the whole book thrown at you
