    Hi all,

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question but I have 0 mechanical knowledge (Apart from the obvious things). I noticed today that the car was making some noise at idle. I opened the bonnet and saw that the part in the photo below was loose. I inserted it on what seems to be its holder but I'm now unable to take it out.

Can you please tell me what is this part and what its role?

    Thanks in advance.

    Peugeot 3008

Not sure how it went out in the first place as it appears to be very difficult to take out once attached to its holder as in the pic above.

    Was it serviced recently?

That pipe would be removed to access the air filter. Probably just not fitted correctly afterwards.

Yes it was serviced in the beginning of the month.

Not sure how long it was detached from its holder, which I assume holds the air filter aswell. Are there any consequence for running the engine with the air pipe not connected to the air filter? Or is the air filter in the other end of the pipe?

    Here is a larger picture

I tried looking under the the air pipe holder but there was nothing, only a few cables. I also tried to remove the air pipe from the holder but no luck. I'm now worried that I might have inserted it too hard in the holder and now it can no longer be removed?

Don’t panic, there’s probably a clip or something that holds it in place. It’s not permanently stuck.
