You're right, it was John Sullivan who sang the theme tune.

Couldn't remember who actually sang it, just remember getting it wrong in a pub quiz once.

For me, chas and dave will always be associated with a childhood cartoon called bangers n mash.

Always thought Rodney sang the closing theme.

Chas n Dave did 'In sickness and in health' with Alf Garnett

His intention was that chas and dave sing the song but they were unavailable at the time.

"we'll show you what we can do with a load of balls and a snooker cue", seemed daft at the time but it's bloody poetry compared to today's music.

Great fun music, plugged a gap in the market that people didn't realise was even there, off to the big knee's up in the sky.

Am gutted..... have a couple of songs on my Ipod. What better way to sing Chas out but to show the Two Ronnies tribute to them...

Great musicians the pair of them & as much a part of the rich musical heritage of their city, as the Dubliners were to our capital.

They enjoyed a real critical & commercial revival after appearing on Jools Holland a couple of times.

Nice that he experienced that success in his later years.

Sad he died of organ failure today, but he wrote a song on their latest album about his cancer battle over the last year.
He called it - Sling yer hook! Humour and good spirits to the end.

He had an allotment and wrote a book about it.
