Fill rather than extract old RCT ?

    An upper canine core & post crown has failed recementing and will be added to a partial denture. The endodontist recommended I get the 3 yr old root canal filled in by my dentist. I'm keen to avoid the slightly disfiguring (?) extraction but can find nothing online as to pro's or con's - particularly, durability and likelihood or not of bacterial seepage down the line. Would I be just better off to get the root removed?

    Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

    If an root canalled tooth has a post crown and it is debonding then the most likely cause of that is a fractured root...!

    Get this checked before spending more time and money on this tooth...
